Dylan Fischer wins State at the Olympic Weightlifting State Tournament!

Senior Dylan Fischer takes first place in the 109 kilo division at the 2022 State Olympic Weightlifting Tournament in Moorhead, MN. He went 6 for 6 in his lifts. Dylan is co-captain of the team and has been part of the team since 7th grade. During his career he has been part of 6 State Championship teams between Powerlifting and Olympic Weightlifting. He is also the State Champion in Powerlifting Dylan for 110 kilos this year. Between both sports, he has EVERY school record for every lift - deadlift, bench, clean, snatch, clean and jerk and back squat. 

Co-captain and senior Ellie Phorn placed 2nd in the 59 kilo division. This is her third year qualifying for state placing 2nd as a sophomore and 3rd as a junior. She still has one more meet to qualify for Nationals in June. Ellie is also on the track and field team.

Junior Sidney Lamotte placed 2nd in the 81 kilo division in her first year being on the team. She also is co-captain of the girls varsity softball team.

The team is coached by Coach Lerf, Lucky and Grahn.

BHS weightlifting team has been around over 12 years and have won 4 state champions including many, many individual state championships. The team is co-ed and welcomes any students 7-12 grade to be part of the team. Click here for more information.
