District 191 Board adopts Legislative Platform

The District 191 Board of Education adopted a Legislative Platform for 2021 to share its priorities with the state legislators who represent District 191 families. This years platform focuses on funding that meets the needs of our students and addressing the lack of diversity among educators in Minnesota.

The platform includes four planks:

  • Increase per pupil funding by 2% per year

  • Reduce the cross subsidy for special education and English learning

  • Provide targeted funding to increase diversity among teachers

  • Provide a legislative exemption to allow local control of property sale proceeds

The full 2021 District 191 Legislative Platform, is available online. Parents and community members who wish to do so, can find contact information for their representatives and let them know what issues matter most to them.
