CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Join Debate and/or Speech Club:

What do Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Justice Kentaji Brown, and Oprah have in common? They all did Speech and Debate! Participants get to debate current events, write speeches about issues they are passionate about, and act out dramatic stories. There is something for everyone! Benefits of participating are improved public speaking confidence, strengthened writing and research skills, and ability to choose the stories you wish to tell as an actor. Plus, it looks great on a resume/college applications! Burnsville has had students perform at the National Speech and Debate Tournament three years in a row, maybe this year it will be you?!

YIG will be hosting Explore YIG on Wednesday, September the 28th in the E commons at 3pm. Explore YIG is a great way to find out what YIG is, what we do at the conference, and get free ice cream! Parents are also welcome to come and learn more about the program.
