Burnsville High School senior siblings Alexis and Andrew Bunnell win National Honor Society scholarships
We're proud to announce that Alexis and Andrew Bunnell have been selected as National Honor Society scholarship recipients.
Andrew and Alexis were two of 575 national semi-finalists chosen from a pool of more than 10,000 senior National Honor Society students who applied this year. Andrew and Alexis will each receive a $3,200 scholarship to use toward higher education.
"We cannot think of two more deserving individuals for this honor. Alexis and Andrew work tirelessly with our NHS officer team to provide quality service opportunities for our group," said NHS co-advisors and teachers Marylou Dundon and Lori Vanderwoude. "This past month alone they organized ACT study sessions for juniors, along with a pen-pal project to connect students with staff members. Together they have logged more than 4,000 volunteer hours, have won multiple awards and each have an impressive 4.0 GPA while taking honors courses. We are extremely grateful for their leadership and for all they have done as part of multiple groups to make Burnsville High School a stronger and more welcoming place for all!"
Recipients are chosen based on their demonstrated work to support the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Congratulations Alexis and Andrew on your outstanding accomplishments!
