Burnsville High School teachers receive BestPrep Educator of Excellence Award
Danielle Christy and Les Moffitt are recipients of this year’s BestPrep Educator of Excellence Award. The award serves to recognize the top two percent of teachers who go above and beyond in their commitment to educating Minnesota youth.
Christy, an AVID teacher, and Moffit, a social studies teacher, were recognized at a virtual ceremony on Oct. 7, along with other educators who participate annually in BestPrep programs. The theme of this year’s ceremony was “Through Challenge Comes Transformation.”
Since 2014, Christy has participated in BestPrep’s eMentors, an online mentoring program that connects high school students with mentors. She’s also hosted several speakers in her classroom through Classroom Plus and Financial Matters programs, attended BestPrep’s Technology Integration Workshop and referred students to the Minnesota Business Venture camp.
Mofffit has also participated and supported several of BestPrep’s programs, including Classroom Plus and eMentors.
