Burnsville High School Theatre Guild to present ‘High School Musical’

The Burnsville High School Theatre Guild will present Disney’s hit movie musical “High School Musical” from May 6-16 at the Mraz Center for the Performing Arts at Burnsville High School.

Audiences are invited to follow Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High as they navigate first love, friendships, family expectations and the challenge of balancing academics with extracurricular activities.

“‘High School Musical’ has been an absolute blast from the past,” Director Kate Herrera said. “I grew up with this movie, so directing it now is a dream come true. I feel incredibly grateful to share this experience with our students.”

Herrera added that the musical carries an important message: “It encourages students to break the ‘status quo’ and follow their hearts, a great message for anyone to hear. With lively, comedic, fun and heartfelt performances, ‘High School Musical’ is a production that all ages will enjoy!”

All performances will be held at the Mraz Center for the Performing Arts, located at 600 Hwy 13 in Burnsville. Tickets are $10 for students, $11 for seniors, and $12 for adults. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.
